How old do I have to be to be pierced at Studs? Do you pierce minors?

We pierce clients ages 10 and up–except in Nevada, where state law requires a minimum age of 14. A parent or legal guardian must be present during check-in and throughout the piercing appointment and must bring a valid government-issued photo ID. 

Please arrive 15 minutes early to the appointment to complete the waiver. Make sure your minor eats something before the appointment and stays hydrated!

NOTE: If your minor plays sports or activities where earrings must be removed, we recommend waiting to get pierced until earrings can stay in for 4–6 months to allow for full healing.
 

ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF ID FOR MINORS:

  • Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit
  • Passport
  • State-issued ID
  • U.S. Green Card
  • Tribal ID
  • Birth Certificate

STATE SPECIFIC RULES:

TEXAS, SOUTH CAROLINA, & TENNESSEE STUDIOS:

  • During booking, you’ll complete an online waiver and upload valid IDs for both parent/guardian and minor.
  • You’ll receive a copy of your waiver and booking confirmation via email — keep both accessible!
  • The same parent/guardian who signed the waiver must be present for the appointment.
  • At check-in, have your waiver open on your phone and be ready to show your parent/guardian’s physical ID.
     

FLORIDA STUDIOS:

  • Florida requires a written notarized consent form for all minors — download it HERE.
  • Upload the completed consent form and valid IDs for both parent/guardian and minor during booking.
  • You’ll receive your waiver + confirmation emails — keep both and your notarized form handy.
  • Arrive 15 minutes early with your parent/guardian, waiver, and consent form ready to present.
     

NEVADA (LAS VEGAS STUDIO):

  • We pierce ages 14+ in Nevada.
  • A valid ID is required for all piercings.
  • The waiver must be completed in-studio for yourself or your minor.
  • At the Studio, you must present:
    • Parent/guardian’s valid ID
    • Minor's valid ID
    • Proof of custody or guardianship (e.g., birth certificate, certificate of adoption)

ALL OTHER STATES:

  • Arrive 15 minutes early with your parent/guardian to complete your waiver in-studio.
